The Story

2022

JANUARY 3

Bought the truck.

Got the transmission rebuilt.

Started showing some weird symptoms. Would suddnely lose some power.

The issue continued to get worse until I decided it was undrivable. Brought it to my dads house for troubleshooting. It spent a lot of time here as we swapped out every part we could think of to get it running again. We brought it to many people, but nobody could seem to figure out the issue.

SEPTEMBER 1

Got truck back. The issue ended up being the alternator frying the main PCM board. After replacing both parts, the issue went away and the truck was drivable again.

DECEMBER 24

Flat Tire. Merry Christmas!

2024

JANUARY 3

Serpentine belt split, replaced belt.

JANUARY 7

Belt split again. Narrowed it down to a mismatch in the number of belt grooves on the alternator pulley. The guy at O'Reily's gave me the part for free because he was interested in the project.
